Friday Sermon – Khalifatul Masih V – Mirza Masroor Ahmad – Year 2019

Peace and blessings be upon you all. Rehana Wahab Sahiba Tilawat. May peace and blessings of Allah be upon you. [Arabic, Holy Qur’an 25:62-88] Maria Hassan Sahiba, translation. May peace and blessings of Allah be upon you, beloved Huzoor. May peace and blessings of Allah be upon you too.

Before you the verses of Surah Al-Furqan, verses 62-88, have just been recited. I now present its translation by Hazrat Khalifat-ul-Masih lV (rh). “In the name of Allah the Gracious the Merciful. “Blessed is He Who has made mansions in the heaven and has placed therein “a Lamp and a Moon giving light.

“And He it is Who has made the night and the day, each following the other, “for him who desires to remember, or desires to be grateful. “And the servants of the Gracious God are those who walk on the earth in a dignified manner,

“and when the ignorant address them, they say, ‘Peace!’ “And who spend the night before their Lord, prostrate and standing, “And who say, ‘Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell; ‘for the punishment thereof is a lasting torment. ‘It is indeed evil as a place of rest and as an abode;’

“And those who, when they spend, are neither extravagant “nor niggardly but moderate between the two.” Jazakallah. Sobia Laghari Sahiba, Nazam. May peace and blessings of Allah be you you, Beloved Huzoor. May peace and blessings of Allah be upon you too. Poetry by Hazrat Massih Maud (as) That guide of ours,

With whom everything is illuminated, His name is Muhammad (saw), he is my Beloved. All prophets are pure, One better than the other. All prophets are pure, One better than the other. But, from God Almighty, he is the best of creations But, from God Almighty, he is the best of creations.

He is more virtuous than the ones before, his virtue is like the moon. Every eye is on him, he is the full moon in a dark night. The ones before failed, He took them off, further. May that I lay down my life in his cause; He alone is the perfect master.

As the curtains were moved back, the path became clearer. As the curtains were moved back, the path became clearer. Meeting the heart of your beloved, he is that friend. Meeting the heart of your beloved, he is that friend. That Beloved unbounded by space, That Darling of the recesses of my heart;

We have seen him, he is the rightful guider. Today, he is the King of Faith; he is the Crown of Messengers; He is pure and trustworthy this is his very praise. The orders that came owned with rights, he showed and fulfilled. The orders that came owned with rights, he showed and fulfilled.

The secrets that were told, Nemul ata yehi hai. The secrets that were told, Nemul ata yehi hai. That guide of ours With whom everything is illuminated, His name is Muhammad (saw), he is my Beloved. he is my Beloved. JazakAllah. Secretary Taleem Sahiba In the name of Allah the Gracious

Most respected and beloved Huzoor, peace and blessing of Allah be upon you. We humbly request Huzoor-e-aqdas to present awards to those students, who have achieved the academic excellence in their particular fields of education. First we present before Huzoor, the students of the Netherlands.

With Huzoors kind permission, we now conclude the presentation of awards. JazakAllah Huzoor. Peace and blessings be upon you all. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah. He is alone and has no partner. and I bear witness that Muhammad (saw) is His Servant and Messenger.

After this I seek refuge with Allah from Satan the accursed. In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful. All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds. The Gracious, the Merciful. Master of the Day of Judgment. Thee alone do we worship and Thee alone do we implore for help.

Guide us in the right path The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings, those who have not incurred Thy displeasure, and those who have not gone astray. Among the modern-day devices, that Allah the Exalted has enabled mankind to invent,

One useful invention is that the audio and video footage of various speeches and other proceedings from the men’s marquee can be relayed to the ladies’ marquee on large TV screens whenever so required. Hence, whenever the Khalifa of the time delivers an address from the men’s side,

It can also be heard and viewed on the ladies’ side via television screens. Although, this arrangement should suffice for the ladies, yet the organisers, who make the schedule for Jalsa [the annual convention] also suggest a plan

For a separate address of the Khalifa of the time in the ladies marquee because there is usually a demand from the ladies that the Khalifa of the time should address them directly from their marquee. In order to honour this demand from the ladies,

I usually address the Lajna directly at their Jalsas, even in smaller Jama’ats. Today, I have come here so that I may address you directly. We see that usually whenever men are commanded and admonished by the Holy Qur’an to do something, ladies are also included in that address.

Thus, in terms of fundamental teachings, the address to the men should also suffice for the women, if they truly focus on acting upon the advice that is given. There are some matters for which Allah the Exalted has also addressed the believing men and believing women separately

Although the injunction may have been of the same nature. There are some instructions in the Holy Qur’an, which have been exclusively addressed to women. In any case, although there are finer details of some of the commandments given to men and women collectively or in some cases separately,

But if one was to truly pay attention to the fundamental instructions and act upon them – given that the intention to act is there – then a strong foundation is formed. Due to this foundation, women would automatically begin to follow the instructions that are given to men.

If no attention is paid to the fundamental teachings that are mentioned in sermons, in the addresses to the men or other regular addresses, then these addresses delivered to the ladies separately would also not be of any benefit.

But it any case, it is also true that if one is addressed directly, it benefits one more. Hence, this has been the practice of the Khulafa of the time since the time of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih II (ra). Ijtemas did not use to take place before him but dars [lectures] used to be delivered.

Hazrat Khalifatul Masih I (ra) used to deliver dars so that at least one lecture is delivered to the ladies. Sometimes, or rather often, such instructions are given to women that are equally applicable and important to men as well. However, as I have said, the direct addresses to the ladies are also beneficial.

Often, their benefit is that if men are not responding well, then women may be more responsive. There should be at least one person in the home, who should listen to these words and try to act in accordance with them. Furthermore, it has been observed that women are influenced in most places.

Therefore, we can never say that addressing the women is a waste of time and is useless. As I have mentioned, on most occasions, it has been observed that addressing the women directly does not merely influence them, but an extraordinarily positive transformation takes place. Furthermore, another benefit and necessary reason for addressing them directly

Is that the new generation is being raised in their laps and mothers play a vital role in their excellent moral training. Hence, when women are addressed directly, they come to realise their responsibility greater than before. Indeed, there are some stubborn mothers and women, who do not care about this and say that

“why does he repeat the same old things?” The reason for giving this introduction and for saying all these things is so that you attentively listen to the few brief things that I am going to mention at this moment and so that you subsequently try to act in accordance with them.

It should not be the case that I came here, addressed you, you listened to the address, returned home and then the next morning and evening that dawned upon you, dawned upon you in a state where you were unmindful of faith and had no regard for it.

Nevertheless, those who say that the same old things are repeated, they should always remember that the injunctions of the Holy Qur’an, the Hadith, the Sunnah [practice] of the Holy Prophet (saw) and the instructions and commandments of the Promised Messiah (as)

As well as the example and guidance of the Holy Prophet (saw) never get old. As a matter of fact, at every moment, they enable a person to acquire an understanding of faith from a different perspective and attain the nearness of Allah the Exalted.

Here, I should also clarify that it should not be understood that these vices or weaknesses are only to be found among women and that I am addressing the women due to this. It is possible that these weaknesses are greater among men and, in fact,

These weaknesses and vice can also be observed in them in most places. Hence, men should also listen to these words and continue to evaluate themselves, they should not go home and address the women saying that this address

Was delivered to you as these vices were found in you. As a matter of fact, I found an opportunity to address both men and women and am therefore mentioning this here. Thus, men should continue to assess themselves. The number of times that I generally address the men and speak about various things,

If a majority of our men were to listen to those things and act upon them, then women would look at their example and reform themselves, a change would develop in them. Nevertheless, at present, I will say a few words in relation to the guidance that the Promised Messiah (as) gave his Jama’at and

Speak about the expectations he has from the members of his Jama’at, whether they are men or women; I will speak about the expectations he has from every member of the Jama’at. However, before doing so, I would also like to say that currently,

The majority of the people living here consists of those people, who have migrated from Pakistan due to the circumstances and particularly due to the religious circumstances. Even if they have migrated due to economic reasons, apart from a few well-educated individuals,

The majority has pleaded to the government here that the purpose of their migration is the fact that Ahmadis do not have religious freedom in Pakistan. Furthermore, the government here, despite some anti-Islamic individuals raising a hue and cry, has granted you asylum and has given you the opportunity to freely express your religion.

In this regard, we should always keep two things in mind. One is that we should be grateful to the governments of the countries that have established our religious rights and granted us freedom. We are allowed to offer our prayers and propagate the message of Islam.

Therefore, for the welfare of these countries and as a way to express our gratitude, we should strive and make every possible effort to find ways of how we can benefit the countries that we live in. Introducing them to the beautiful teachings of Islam and propagating the message of Islam

Is the greatest way that we can serve as a benefit to them. It is a false notion that women do not have [similar] opportunities to do Tabligh. The fact is that they do, they have a plethora of such opportunities

And programmes should be organised in this regard. Thus, propagating the true message of Islam is a way of expressing gratitude to them and in this way we can dispel the unnecessary opposition caused by the wrong actions of [certain] Muslims which also results in the derision of The Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw).

So, this is something which we have to dispel. The second thing is that we have been permitted to live here due to religious reasons. Hence, we should endeavor to mold our religious, moral and spiritual condition in accordance to the teachings of Islam.

We should strive to meet the expectations which the Promised Messiah (as) has from us. Every woman and man should always remember what the Promised Messiah (as) expects from us. In this regard, I will now present specific guidelines of the Promised Messiah (as).

Always remember that we have accepted the Promised Messiah (as) as the Messiah and Mahdi. God Almighty has commanded us regarding this matter, and the Holy Prophet (saw) prophesied about this and instructed that when the Messiah and Mahdi will make his claim in the latter days,

You should accept him and join his Community. As a matter of fact, he even told [us] to convey his greetings of peace [to the Messiah and Mahdi] because the purpose of the advent of the Promised Messiah and Mahdi is to revive the teachings of Islam and the religion

Brought to us by The Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw). He will come to re-establish the teachings of Islam. Scholars with vested interests have blemished these teachings. He will come to re-establish the beauty of those teachings. So you should accept him so that you may learn of the true teachings of Islam.

The second manifestation of Islam will result through the advent of the Promised Messiah (as). A new era will begin in which the Promised Messiah (as) will present the pure and beautiful teachings of Islam which have been damaged by the so-called scholars, saints and religious leaders.

He will present a true picture of Islam with the special guidance of God Almighty. Hence, it is not an ordinary matter to accept the Promised Messiah (as) and to act according to his guidance and instructions. This is the true Islam. In this regard, every single one of us should pay close attention

To these instructions and act accordingly. Otherwise, our claim of pledging allegiance to the Promised Messiah (as) is hollow and worthless. The Promised Messiah (as) has stated very clearly that “I am the arbitrator and the judge. If you pledge your allegiance to me

“and accept the fact that I have been sent by God Almighty, “yet still do not act upon the things that I say, “if you still do not follow my decisions and act upon the advice given by me, “if you do not act upon my instructions, “then you should worry about your faith.”

Thus, we must seriously contemplate because on one the hand it is we who claim that the reason for our migration to these countries was because we were not permitted to profess our faith, but on the other hand we tend to forget to pay attention to the teaching of that person

Whose teachings became the very basis of our migration. We tend to disregard the requirements of our faith once we have witnessed the glamour of this world. The person who truly loved the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) is the man who we have acknowledged and by pledging our allegiance at his hand

We have pledged to help in the revival of Islam and make our utmost effort for this revival. We pledged to spiritually cleanse ourselves and try to become closer to God. Instead, our migration seems to inspire us in developing internal schemes of becoming financially wealthier.

The Promised Messiah (as) has repeatedly reminded us that we must focus entirely upon Allah the Almighty once we initiate Bai’at at his hand. Our concentration (upon Allah) should not be superficial rather it must be genuine. Even yesterday, my sermon consisted of the topic in regards to how we can establish that

Concentration and that bond of love (with Allah); (for this) it is fundamental to sincerely discipline your way of offering Salat. Apart from loving the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw), apart from acting upon his commandments and following him, you should also act upon the Sunnah or practice of the Holy Prophet (saw).

The true meaning of following someone is that you try to act upon his practice and instructions. This is exactly what is mentioned in the Holy Qur’an and the Holy Prophet (saw) also emphasised upon this. Similarly, the Promised Messiah (as) also emphasised upon the punctuality and discipline of Salat,

And to concentrate heavily upon seeking repentance. The seeking of repentance acts as an obstacle for a person to become dissuaded by prohibited temptations and vices. It is necessary to concentrate in seeking repentance. The Promised Messiah (as) states: “Always seek forgiveness and remember the concept of death.

“Always seek forgiveness from Allah and remember that death “is a certainty that is to befall upon man one day or another. The reminder of death is the feature “that enables a person to constantly remember his Lord and also the realisation that

“the world we live in is not to last, that ‘this world should not be the purpose of my existence’. “Rather, it is the afterlife that is the actual purpose.” And when we understand the reality of this, when we comprehend the true essence of this reality

Within our hearts, then our efforts to attain worldly things will cease to exist. We would no longer worry about purchasing the same amount of expensive jewelry being displayed by certain women, nor would we worry about purchasing a house that is as big as that which is owned by certain women.

Nor should these superficial achievements constantly pressurize husbands [by their wives] or the men should not be swayed by such greed also. There are also a lot of discussions amongst women in regards to the world of fashion in which they gossip amongst themselves about the fashionable clothes of other women

And this inspires them to want to copy them. After migrating from Pakistan, there seems to be a trend of purchasing expensive garments that are designed by big Pakistani brand name, whereas these garments could also be purchased cheap elsewhere. However, the emphasis remains

On purchasing the latest fashionable clothing whether one can afford them or not. By all means go ahead and purchase them but you must remain within the limits of your means. A true believer has no business in keeping an eye on the superficiality of the world.

Of course, they are the blessings and bounties of Allah from which we should seek benefit from, however this should not create disharmony amongst our household. Indeed, if you do wish to compete amongst one another then compete in the sense that you

Pray to Allah by saying, ‘This man has delivered an excellent sacrifice for the sake of religion. ‘O my Lord! Enable me to offer an even greater sacrifice for such a purpose!’. Or for instance, a certain person could be blessed with righteous children who equally concentrate on their prayers alongside their worldly affairs.

Therefore, “O my Lord! Make me amongst those who offer prayers correctly and may Allah “enable my children to become those that are ever ready to offer services “for the sake of Islam and those who worship Allah regularly.” Thus, the spirit of competition between Ahmadi believers,

Male and female should be for religious superiority rather than worldly gains. And when we turn to Allah with this spirit, it is then that the Lord of great mercy and forgiveness, the Lord who treats everyone who turns to Him with infinite love and compassion,

It is He who listens to the righteous prayers and desires of his worshipers and acknowledges their righteous deeds. The Promised Messiah (as) has mentioned in a passage: “It can only be Allah “who would forgive the sins of a person who truly turns to him with repentance.”

He states: “Offer Salat with due diligence and the fear of Allah should always remain within you. “Always think twice about doing anything and try to perceive whether “your action would please Allah or displease him.” He states: “Salat is a very important component “and is the pinnacle of a believer’s duties (towards God).

“The finest form of praying to Allah is Salat. Salat is an audience with Allah, “it is a platform to praise Allah and seek forgiveness from Him for your sins.” It is a condition of consistent perfection in which we are taught prayers that we express through

Our physical postures of Sujood and Rukoo, and those prayers that we express in our own language. Therefore, he states “that you should offer Salat and seek prayers. “Pray that may Allah the Almighty grant you the fulfillment of your righteous desires.”

The Promised Messiah(as) states that “the prayers of a person who does not pray “in accordance to this purpose shall never be acknowledged.” The purpose should simply be the attainment of Allah’s attention and to gain forgiveness from Allah the Almighty for your sins. Therefore, pray with the utmost sincerity. When you stand (for prayer),

Your posture should symbolise that you are ready for the obedience of Allah, therefore you should stand with your arms folded. And when you bow to Allah, it should clearly demonstrate that your heart bows to him, and when you go into prostration

It should be reminiscent of a man whose heart is in fear (of Allah). Pray for your faith and worldly affairs during Salat. Thus, it is equally important for women to offer their prayers with the utmost sincerity the way it is for men. The commandment of worship

And the remembrance of God holds equally the same value for women as it does for men. Allah has also instructed that women should also become His dedicated worshipers, and when a woman becomes a true worshiper of Allah, her influence does not simply remain within the realm of her individuality

Rather its positive influence pours over into her children also. In fact, the men of their household are also positively influenced through this. There are many households in which the righteous women have positively influenced the men into leading a righteous lifestyle. This is exactly why Hazrat Musleh Maud(ra) established

The auxiliary organisation of Lajna Imaillah so that women could also excel in righteousness and participate in Community activities so that they could continue to inherit the blessings of Allah. Especially young women look up to their mothers until they reach a mature age, they specifically analyse the actions of their mothers.

When a young lady witnesses that her mother consistently worships Allah and remembers Allah, then it is bound to have a positive influence upon her. And this will lead to our next generations being properly raised in the sense

That it would give rise to the birth of girls and boys who also worship Allah regularly. Surely, if we become those who safeguard our children from the evil vices of this world then certainly you shall also be safeguarding the future generations from the same

Evil vices and you shall contribute in raising them to become truly close to Allah the Almighty. Therefore it is necessary for men and women to understand their responsibilities. Then another thing the Promised Messiah (as) has drawn the attention of every Ahmadi man and woman towards is the continuous reading of the Holy Qur’an.

“He states that you should not read it as if it is a mere story rather, “ponder upon its teaching and ponder upon what the Holy Qur’an teaches. “Try to comprehend the deep meanings of the commandments of the Holy Qur’an “and then endeavour to act upon them in every possible manner.”

It is the commandments of the Holy Qur’an which can guide us to the right path. If those women within our community who have reduced their level of Purdah and do not give due importance to it due to the environment here would read the Holy Qur’an carefully

And understand the true essence of the commandment of Purdah as mentioned in the Holy Qur’an, then the level of Purdah would never decrease for anyone. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) has said that modesty is part of one’s faith. If every woman would understand the true essence of modesty then surely,

Every woman would pay close attention to Purdah and would follow a modest dress code. And the fashion that has recently started these days where coats have also become a part of fashion where they are tailored like completely fitted shirts exposing one’s curves

And to such an extent that it stops to look like a Burqa; this trend would cease to exist, this trend would not even develop Those women who have come from Pakistan should at least keep and maintain the level of Purdah that they had in Pakistan;

Rather than, coming here and wearing small coats and to wear such clothing which does not even fulfil the due rights of Purdah. Always remember that the allegiance that you have pledged to the Promised Messiah (as) consists of an oath which states that we shall give precedence to our faith over all worldly matters.

Thus, this oath can only be fulfilled when we follow the authority of the Holy Qur’an and when we endeavour to act upon all of its commandments. Therefore, it is a great responsibility for every man and woman to fulfil the oath that they have made otherwise God Almighty states that

“if I do not hold you accountable for your actions in this world, “you will surely be held accountable for your oaths in the hereafter.” The Promised Messiah (as) has said that “upon entering into this community, “you should become like one who begins a completely new life.”

You have done Bai’at, you have joined the Jama’at, so you should become one who starts a new life. The Promised Messiah (as) states that “you should befriend God Almighty for when God Almighty “becomes your friend, even if the world becomes your enemy, they cannot harm you at all

“because the angels of God Almighty take you “into their protection as a mother takes her child into her lap.” He states that if God Almighty becomes your friend then the world cannot harm you in any way. That true friend, that is God Almighty, He will take care of you in every respect,

He will protect you and His angels will take you into their security like a mother takes her child into her lap. Thus, this is absolutely paramount which each and every one of us should remember. Those of us are truly fortunate who understand the essence of this and in doing so,

Have a desire to befriend God Almighty, endeavour to befriend Him and attain success in doing so. In order to befriend God Almighty, we also have to elevate the standards of our worship. We also have to adopt a physical appearance like our dress code etc. according to the guidelines of God Almighty.

Our practical state should be one which is exemplary and we should also elevate our moral standards whereby we may fulfil the rights of the people of God Almighty. God Almighty has drawn our attention towards fulfilling the rights of His people along with fulfilling His rights as well.

Thus, this is also one commandment of God Almighty among many others. If you wish to befriend God Almighty, then it is paramount to act upon His commandments as well. Therefore, everyone should analyse themselves and determine whether their worship is of a high level, whether they pay attention to the remembrance of Allah,

Whether their practical state coincides with the teachings presented by God Almighty and whether they are one who fulfils the rights of everyone else and displays high morals. If the answer to this is in the affirmative, then all of you will attain benefit from your Bai’at, otherwise we would only be Ahmadis by name.

The Promised Messiah (as) states: “Remember that the purpose of our community is not for people “to live a normal life like worldly people, the purpose of our community is not for people “to live a normal life like worldly people nor is it sufficient for one to merely verbally say

“that they we have entered into this community and then have no actions to show for it. “I do not only want you to verbally profess your faith “and have no actions to support what you profess. “This is a very worthless state and God Almighty does not like such a state.

“Thus, if someone develops a relationship with me but does not try to reform himself “and does not progress in his physical abilities and only deems it sufficient “to verbally profess his faith, it is as if such a person demonstrates through his actions

“that there is no need for the advent of the Promised Messiah (as) to have taken place.” He states that “if you wish to prove through your actions that my advent is meaningless and futile, “then what is the need to even associate yourself with me? Then (everything you say)

“is a complete lie and mere words uttered from the mouth.” Then it is merely an utterance of the mouth that we are Ahmadis. The Promised Messiah (as) does not consider such people to be from among him. Thus, this is something that one should be worried about, one should think and ponder

Upon the fact that on one hand we call ourselves to be Ahmadis and take on the opposition of other Muslims who speak out against us and cause us pain and put us into difficulties, and then on the other hand we may not even be considered as Ahmadis

In the sight of the Promised Messiah (as) and in the sight of God Almighty because of our own weaknesses and actions. The Promised Messiah (as) states that “if you develop a relationship with me, then fulfil the purpose and intent (of my advent)

“and what is the purpose and intent of his advent? That is to demonstrate your sincerity and loyalty “before God Almighty and to act upon the teachings of the Holy Qur’an “as shown to us by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw). “Understand what the Holy Qur’an requires of us and act upon its teachings accordingly.”

The Promised Messiah (as) has very clearly said, remember that the community which God Almighty wishes to establish cannot flourish without actions(that accord to His will.) Thus, those of you who are sitting before me, there are Lajna here and similarly there are men as well who have made an oath

To keep their children closely associated with religion; this is an oath everyone makes, the Ansar, Khuddam and Lajna. If we have no actions to show for it, if our own state is such that we cannot demonstrate the living state of the community,

Then how can we guarantee the (security) of our own children and progeny? The Promised Messiah (as) states that “the community which God Almighty wishes to establish “cannot flourish without actions (that accord to His will.)” This is the oath that we have made but if even after making this oath we ourselves cannot flourish,

Then how can our future generations flourish? How can we guarantee that our future generations will give precedence to their faith over all worldly matters? How can our women and our men say that our children are always ready to sacrifice anything for their faith? Thus, after having understood the teachings of the Holy Qur’an,

One ought to first adhere to their faith themselves and then, whilst remaining firm on this pure state, also train their progeny to remain established on faith and to offer sacrifices for its sake. It is only then that we can become a Community which is truly living,

Otherwise if this is not the case then our Community will become spiritually dead. We have taken on the responsibility of bringing about the moral reformation of the world, therefore it is essential that we continuously assess our conditions. Bear in mind that the promises vouchsafed to the Promised Messiah (as)

By God Almighty will indeed be fulfilled, however those among us who listen to the words of the Promised Messiah (as) and yet pay no heed to them will become like a dry and lifeless branch. The Promised Messiah (as) has stated that

A dry and lifeless branch of a tree is cut off by the gardener. Therefore, in order to do true justice to our Bai’at with the Promised Messiah (as), we must greatly strive for this and in order to adhere to his teachings, we must instil Taqwa (righteousness) within our hearts.

It is Taqwa alone which directs one’s attention towards performing virtuous deeds. On one occasion, the Promised Messiah (as) stated: “Until one does not instil Taqwa in their religious affairs, “they will not be granted any succour from the Holy Spirit.

“One who lacks in Taqwa will indeed stumble. Thus, it is imperative to adopt Taqwa , “and Taqwa is to essentially adopt all moral qualities. “To adhere to some and neglect others, is not Taqwa.” When an individual seeks to adopt all forms of virtue and high morals, it is only then that

God Almighty grants acceptance to one’s supplications and draws His servant closer to Himself. The Promised Messiah (as) states: “The Holy Qur’an teaches Taqwa “and this is its primary objective. (This is the primary objective of its teachings). “If an individual does not instil Taqwa within himself, his prayers will be of no avail.”

The Promised Messiah (as) further states, “Taqwa and purity is the very root “from which one’s faith develops and nurtures forth and also helps to supress one’s inner desires.” Faith emerges from Taqwa, and it is Taqwa which then becomes the means of further developing the faith.

Thus, in these countries [in the West] where in the name of “freedom” and “progressive thought” such [immoral] practises are openly expressed which can incite all sorts of passions, it is essential to particularly strive to instil Taqwa. Therefore, it is the duty of every Ahmadi man and woman, to progress in Taqwa

So that one is enabled to perform virtuous deeds; and so that we can attain the nearness of God Almighty and be safeguarded from the ills and also safeguard our future progenies from it as well; and also fulfil the due rights of our Bai’at.

May God Almighty grant everyone the ability to instil true Taqwa within them and become the recipients of His blessings. Please join me in silent prayer. Ameen [Poems recited by Lajna and Nasirat] Have you finished? Peace be upon you.
