Friday Sermon – Khalifatul Masih V – Mirza Masroor Ahmad – Year 2018
Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah I bear witness that Muhammad (saw) is the Messenger of Allah Come to Prayer Come to success Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest. There is none worthy of worship except Allah.
Peace be upon you all, I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah He is alone and has no partner and I bear witness that Muhammad (saw) is His Servant and Messenger After this I seek refuge with Allah from Satan the accursed.
In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful. All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds. The Gracious, the Merciful. Master of the Day of Judgment. Thee alone do we worship and Thee alone do we implore for help. Guide us in the right path
The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings, those who have not incurred Thy displeasure, and those who have not gone astray. Whilst elaborating on the philosophy of prayer, on one occasion the Promised Messiah (as) stated: “When a child being driven by hunger cries for milk,
“then milk is generated in the mother’s breasts. “The child does not even know what prayer is, but his cries draw the milk.’ He continues by saying: “Sometimes when the mother does not perceive the presence of milk in her breasts, “the cries of the child help to draw it.
“Then, how can it be that our cries before Allah the Exalted draw nothing? “They certainly draw everything, “but the learned ones and philosophers, who are blind, cannot see it. “If a person were to reflect on the philosophy of prayer, “keeping in mind the connection and relationship which a child has with its mother,
“one would find it easy to understand this matter.” It is an immense favour of Allah the Exalted upon us Ahmadis that most of our youth as well as our elders understand that when one bows down and offers supplications before Allah the Exalted with
Great fervency and lamenting with humility, then Allah the Exalted listens to the prayers. Sometimes, there are such incidents of the acceptance of prayers, which even fill other people with astonishment. Many people write to me as to how they sometimes become disappointed by everyone
And whilst in a state of complete hopelessness, when they pray to Allah the Exalted, He manifests His Grace in a manner that it becomes a means of strengthening their faith. I will now present some of these incidents, which I come across in various reports. Nazir Da’wat Ilallah [Director of Outreach] Qadian writes:
“The Ameer [President] of Hoshiarpur district reported that a few years ago, “due to a lack of rain in their village, Khera Acharwal, the villagers were deeply concerned. “Even the water in the well had subsided to the lowest level. “The Hindus, who were in the majority, requested the Mu’allim [local missionary] to pray.
(A Mu’allim or maulvi in East Punjab is referred to as ‘miyan jee’). They believed firmly that if they requested the Ahmadi Mu’allim for prayers, it will most certainly rain. Nevertheless, our Mu’allim, at first, taught them the Islamic etiquettes of prayer and told them about the attributes of Allah the Exalted.
Then he lead them in prayer. Allah the Exalted accepted the supplication of the Ahmadi Mu’allim and, he says that, “Through the Grace of God Almighty, within two or three hours, “Allah the Almighty caused it to rain heavily. “Thus, He provided a proof that He answers supplications.
“By the Grace of Allah the Exalted, this incident had an effect on the entire village. “The people of the village openly expressed “that it was due to the prayer of the Ahmadis that it had rained.” Similarly, Ameer Sahib [National President] of Fiji Islands writes:
“Prior to departing for a tour of Tuvalu, the missionary of Tuvalu narrated “that there was a small island near Fiji where it had not rained for quite some time, “but the residents of the island relied on rainwater.” Thus, prior to going on tour, he also wrote to me.
He sent a letter and requested me to pray for it to rain. He then says, “When we arrived in Tuvalu, “people expressed grave concerns that their water supply is depleting.” He states: “I announced the same night at Ishaa’ [evening prayers] prayer that
“we would pray for rain in the final prostration of the salat.” “Hence, Allah the Exalted accepted this prayer. “During the night, the Mercy of Allah the Exalted showered [upon us], following which it “rained three of four times, even though, according to the Department for Weather, “a dry period had been predicted for many days.”
He says, “Wherever we went after this, people said it rained as a result of you coming here.” Hence, the bishop of the Catholic church as well as a respected chief of the Funafuti tribe alluded to the fact that it is a result of the Blessings of God the Exalted and the Jama’at
And the prayers of the Khalifa in that it rained here in such an extraordinary manner. Furthermore, this rain did not merely serve as a means of increasing the faith of Ahmadis. Rather, it is also a sign of the truthfulness of the Promised Messiah (as) for non-Ahmadis.
On occasions, the commencement of rain proves to be a sign of the succour and prayers accepted by God Almighty, whereas on other occasions, the cessation of rain becomes the sign of the acceptance of prayer. Furthermore, whether non-Ahmadis accept Islam or not,
They most certainly testify to the fact that the God of Islam is One Who listens to prayers. In the African country of Guinea Bissau, there is a Mu’allim by the name Abdullah. He says: “We went to a village called Sainchang Kangsa in order to preach.
“We gathered people and presented to them the message of the Ahmadiyya Jama’at. “Whilst we were preaching to them, it started to rain heavily. He says that “Due to the noise of the rain, those in attendance were unable to hear my voice
“and it seemed as if these people were about to get up and leave. “People were becoming distressed and were about to leave.” He says that “At that time I prayed ‘O Allah! The rain belongs to you and the message that I have come with also belongs to you.
‘However, due to the rain, these people are unable to listen to your message and are about to leave.’ He says, “Only a few moments after offering this prayer, Allah the Exalted stopped the rain, “following which, I preached to approximately one hundred and fifty people that were present there.” In addition, he says that,
“Alhamdulillah [all praise belongs to Allah], after I had conveyed the message to them, “all of them were able to perform the bai’at [pledge initiation].” In this incident, whilst the prayer for the cessation of rain increased the faith of the Mu’allim [religious teacher],
It also manifested to these people God Almighty, the One Who answers prayers. People ask how God can be seen. God is seen through the manifestation of His powers. Those very people who were about to leave due to the rain, remained seated as a result of witnessing this blessing of Allah the Exalted.
As a matter of fact, they accepted Ahmadiyyat, the true Islam. Similarly, the missionary of Bandundu, Hafiz Muzzammil says: “I set off to visit a village with the local Mu’allim [religious teacher] “and two Khuddam [youths between the age of 15 and 40]. “On the way, it started to rain heavily.
“It seemed impossible to go any further as the road was unpaved and extremely slippery.” Hence, he says that, “We stopped at one place and supplicated ‘O Allah! We are going to convey the message of Your Messiah (as). ‘Bless us in a manner that every obstacle in our path is removed.’
“We had already sent a message there [to the village] and people had already gathered. “Allah the Exalted immediately accepted our prayer and the rain ceased immediately. “As it seemed that the rain would continue into the night, we were very distressed. “However, Allah the Exalted showered His blessings [upon us] and
“we reached the village on time and according to the schedule we conducted “Tabligh [preaching ] and Tarbiyyat [moral and spiritual training]programs.” Then, in relation to the rain coming to a stop as a result of prayers, Wahhab Tayyab Sahib, missionary in Switzerland, says:
“The Jama’at had purchased a piece of land for the construction of a mosque in the area of Zuchwil. “We organised an event to plant trees to symbolise peace and for this we invited guests as well.
“According to the forecast, it was to rain heavily on the day we had intended to plant the trees.” As the entire proceedings of the event were taking place outdoors, they were very distressed. They also wrote to me in relation to this and I received many letters from them.
Hence, he says that “When we went there on the day of the event, “it started to rain very heavily and there was no sign that the rain would stop. “However, as a result of [our] prayers, Allah the Exalted showered His blessings [upon us]. “One hour remained until the commencement of the event and
“the rain had completely come to a stop and the sun had come out.” He says that “At the time of the event, the president of the local council was also present. “The very first thing he asked with great astonishment was that ‘Have you people ordered the weather for your event as well?’
“Upon this he was told that we prayed and that we had also written seeking prayers from our Khalifa. “Furthermore, we were absolutely certain Allah the Exalted would shower His Blessings [upon us]. “Thus, this event proved to be successful, which was covered by the local newspapers
“and through this many people were introduced to the Jama’at.” There is no doubt that we do not order the weather, nor can we do so. However, we most certainly submit before the God, Who controls the weather and manifests His power.
I will relate incidents regarding acceptance of prayer that are not associated with the weather. Our God is not merely the God of the weather. Rather, He is Omnipotent and One, Who listens to supplications. He has many attributes and manifests these attributes. The Mu’allim [religious teacher] of the Jama’at in Benin, Mateen Sahib, says:
“A few days ago, a new convert came to me and said ‘Murabbi Sahib, please come to our home’. “He said that the condition of his wife was very frail.” Upon this he says that “I took my wife and went to his house.
“As the issue of his wife was related to childbirth, we were in need of a woman. “The time [for delivery] was very near, however, she was suffering from severe fever. “Due to the severe fever and as a result of the premature labour contractions, “she was unable to deliver the baby.”
He said that “On the previous two occasions, the same condition arose in which “either the child could be saved or the mother. “Hence, on both occasions they saved the mother, which resulted in them losing the children. “This is now the third time that this is occurring.”
The Mu’allim [religious teacher] of the Jama’at said that “In such circumstances, “we offer supplications along with medical treatment and “we also write to our Imam, requesting him for prayers. “However, at this moment there is not enough time. “We will certainly offer the prayer in a formal manner.
“However, as there is no time to write [a letter], we will pray ourselves.” Hence, he says that “Invoking the pure names of Allah the Exalted “as well as the name of the Holy Prophet (saw), I started the prayer.
“After praying, I recited Surah Fatiha and blew upon some water and gave it to the lady.” He says that “I repeated this twice or three times “and sent some water for the lady to drink after having blown upon it. “The third time, the husband returned joyously saying that
“Allah the Exalted had not only protected his wife, but also blessed them with a boy. “By the Grace of Allah the Exalted, the belief in God of this new convert grew even stronger “and his conviction in [the acceptance of] prayers also increased.
“Furthermore, since then he has also started to personally offer supplications regularly “and with attentiveness, modesty, humility and fervour.” Similarly, mentioning an ailing person, the Amir Sahib of Kenya writes: “The Sadr Sahib of one of their Jama’ats was very ill.
“When he enquired about his health, he said two hospitals had sent him home without any hope. ‘Presently, my condition is terrible and you could receive grave news at any moment.’ His skin colour also changed drastically and his body was cold and seemed lifeless. He was reassured and encouraged to not give up hope.
The Mu’alim asked him to pray and he also wrote to me requesting for prayers. The Mu’alim says that after a week when he visited the same Jama’at to lead Friday prayers he saw that his condition had improved and after a few days he also received my [i.e. His Holiness’]
Response which stated: “May Allah Almighty grant him complete recovery.” Afterwards he says that his health continued to improve and before long he made a full recovery. He is now taking care of all his affairs. Therefore, by the Grace of Allah Almighty he was bestowed a new life through prayers
And that strengthened his faith. The district Ameer of Karnataka, India, writes that a president of a Jama’at wrote to him stating that he had been diagnosed with a brain tumour and was admitted to the hospital. The doctors said his illness was incurable and that he could lose his life during the operation.
He wrote to me as well and received my response: “May Allah Almighty grant you full recovery.” He says that after a month the doctors conducted a re-examination and were utterly astonished as they were unable to find the slightest trace of the tumour.
Hussain sahib’s complete recovery was only due to the Grace of Allah and a result ofprayer. Hafiz Ehsaan Sikandar Sahib, a missionary in Belgium, writes about a Jama’at member named Dawood Sahib who fell ill and was admitted to hospital.
His liver, kidneys and lungs failed. He suffered a heart attack in hospital and was on a ventilator. After some time, the doctors gave up hope and his family requested the Jama’at for assistance in regards to funeral arrangements. Hafiz sahib says that he wrote to me as well and kept himself occupied with prayers
And encouraged the Jama’at to do the same. The next day, when he accompanied the Jama’at delegation -which consisted of Sadr Ansarullah, Secretary Tabligh, and Hafiz sahib himself- to visit him, the doctors informed them about the miracle that had taken place.
They said the same medicine that they had given him in the past and was rejected by his body, has now started to work and his condition has begun to improve. He says: “We informed the doctor that this is a miracle of prayer” and Allah Almighty granted him a new life in this manner.
There are various other incidents of acceptance of prayers and are a source of strengthening people’s relationship with Khilafat, as well as belief in the truthfulness of the Jama’at and also God Almighty. Mustafa sahib from Saudi Arabia states:
“I wrote to you [i.e. His Holiness] for prayers that my job be transferred to such and such city, “where I would be able to live with my family. “Apparently, this seemed impossible at first. “However, due to the miracle of prayer, there was a sudden surge in the transfer of jobs
“and although I was thirty third in the queue [to be transferred] I am now number one on the list. “I will have the opportunity to be transferred and will be able to live with my family.” He says: “This is nothing short of a miracle for me.”
Everyone is aware of their personal circumstances and some things may seem insignificant, but the person going through such circumstances can perceive the miracle they witness due to the Grace of Allah Almighty and prayers. Latif Sahib, a Mu’alim of a region in Morogoro, Tanzania, writes “Someone stole the battery of our mosque’s solar system.
“The next day when the members of the Jama’at found out about this, “they decided that instead of filing a report with the police, “it would be better to pray to Allah Almighty. “They thought nothing would happen if they were to file a report with the police.
“They would note it down and that would be the end of it. “They decided to pray to Allah Almighty that may He punish the person who stole this battery “and may He ensure a way for its return. “Some non-Ahmadis were present when this occurred
“so the news of the Ahmadis praying against the person who stole their battery “spread through the entire village. “The non-Ahmadis also started saying that the prayers of Ahmadis are readily accepted “and now the thief will most certainly be caught as there is no way out for him.
“After only one day the person who had stolen the battery returned it “by placing it secretly in front of the house belonging to the Sadr of that Jama’at.” And he says that “In this manner Allah Almighty heard the prayers of Ahmadis “and this further strengthened the faith in prayers for the non-Jama’at members
“that Ahmadis are most certainly righteous and truthful people.” In any case, it is evident from this that even the thieves there have fear of God and are afraid of even the name of God Almighty. However, the hearts of the clerics in Pakistan are completely void of the fear of God.
Using the name of God they go against His commandments and these are the cause of all the strife and conflict there. May Allah the Exalted have mercy on this nation and swiftly save it from these clerics. The missionary in-charge of Guinea Conakry relates an incident where a sincere young new convert
Named Sulaiman Sahib expressed his desire to dedicate his life and serve the Community. Therefore, he was advised to join Jamia Ahmadiyya in Sierra Leone. He gladly accepted this and began preparation. “When we called his parents (who were not Ahmadis) to the mission house to get their consent
“they seemed to be pleased and after two days of getting all the information, they returned. “Upon returning, they took counsel from their Maulwi (cleric), who swayed them “and made them file a case to the police against us that “the Ahmadiyya Community is a non-Islamic, terrorist organisation and
“is enticing this young man and radicalising him.” He says that they were very worried about this and they even wrote to me for prayers. I replied, “May Allah show His Grace. Continue making efforts and continue praying.” When the police completed their enquiry and were introduced to the Community and given leaflets,
By the Grace of Allah the police commissioner not only dropped the case, he also said that it seemed to him that our Islam is more correct and peaceful. He also said to provide him with further information as he wished to join the Community.
Mustenser Sahib, a missionary in the Mali region narrates an incident that this year the members were urged to participate in large numbers at the Mali Annual Convention. Seeing as the Jalsa was in a place which was very far; approximately 400km away,
It would cost the poor people living there 10,000 CFA Francs to reach the venue. It is very difficult for some of the poorer people to save enough to bring the whole family. One member, Yahya Sahib fishes in the river and sells the fish in the market.
He made great efforts throughout the year to earn enough for one person to go. Seeing as he attended the previous year and only had enough for one person to go, he decided to send his wife to the Jalsa.
The missionary told him his intention is good but he must try to go and attend the Jalsa as well and to pray for God Almighty to enable him to catch such a fish from the river from which would grant him enough to pay for himself as well.
Hence, at 8 o’clock on the night before the group were supposed to leave in the morning, he came to the mission house carrying an enormous fish which weighed approximately 12kg. He said that “When I went in the morning to put out the net,
“I prayed fervently that the group are leaving tomorrow and I do not have enough funds. “O Allah! My intention are pure, help me that I may attend this Jalsa. “At around Asr [late afternoon prayer] time I drew in the net and this fish was caught inside it.
“When it came to the shore, a man came and bought it for 18,000 CFA Francs “and I asked the man if I could first show you this fish. “Due to this fish I have the funds for my wife and I to attend the Jalsa “and extra money was also saved on the side.”
There is an incident outlining how God Almighty strengthens the faith of Ahmadis and keeps them firmly attached to Khilafat, through acceptance of their prayers. An Ahmadi from Mali, Idrees Traore Sahib mentions an incident that when I visited Ghana in 2008
And attended the Jalsa, the year of the Khilafat centenary, he also attended the Jalsa. He says: “At the time I used to make a living by means of my chickens. “I left my chickens and went to Ghana and they all died.
“When the person whose money I borrowed to run my business found out that I am an Ahmadi “and am going to attend a gathering of Ahmadis and that my chickens have all died, “he became even more severe in his opposition to me.
“After I returned, he sent a message that within the week I should return his 150,000 CFA Francs. “I became very concerned as I did not have the money and this opponent would disgrace me. “The whole night I prayed profusely that ‘O Allah! Provide for me.
‘I went to attend the Jalsa out of love for the Khalifa.’ “I was shown in a dream that there was grain which had fallen out of a truck and I was gathering it. “A specific location was shown where the truck was and I was gathering the fallen grain.
“In the early morning I went to that location which was shown to me. “There was no truck there but there was some grain which had fallen. “I began gathering it up when all of a sudden I found a black plastic bag. “I opened it and there was 180,000 CFA Francs inside.
“I went to the locals of the area and questioned them. “They told me that there was a truck parked there at night but has now gone towards Senegal. “I told them that I found this money lying there, if it belongs to anyone they should tell me. “However, nobody came forward to claim it.
“Nevertheless, when the lender came in the evening asking for his money back he became abusive. “I told him to be patient, I will give you your money, God Almighty has made arrangements for me. “I returned him the money.”
He says now after several years, noone has come forward to claim the money or enquired about it. Similarly, the missionary Hafeezullah Bharwana Sahib of Germany states that there is a new convert named Ihsan Sahib who is Lebanese. I met him in Germany and during this meeting he mentioned his difficulties regarding his asylum.
The police had informed him that he could be sent back at any given moment. This man’s faith was further increased when God Almighty showed him a miracle regarding his case, that despite the police not expecting the government to grant him any asylum and that he would have to return home,
He was granted three years official asylum and he is now very happy, telling everyone that God Almighty showed this miracle due to prayers. God Almighty also manifests sign of His acceptance of the prayers of Ahmadis to even non-Muslims, which convinces them that the God of Islam listens to prayers.
Mirza Afazl Sahib of Canada writes he went to an interfaith conference in a town of West Vancouver. He looked in a phonebook and called a Sikh telling him that there will be an interfaith conference here so we wish to also meet you.
“He very lovingly welcomed us to his home, gave us food and “allowed us to pray our Zuhr and Asr prayers in his house. “He promised to help in any way possible for the conference. “When we were about to leave he very humbly said that his son has three daughters
“and to pray that God Almighty grants them a son. “We said that we will raise our hands to pray there and then. “We also told him that we will write to our Khalifa for prayers. “By the Grace of Allah the Exalted after one and a half years he rang joyfully
“saying that God Almighty had granted him a grandson.” These were just a few incidents regarding the acceptance of prayer. The Promised Messiah (as) states: “The examples for the acceptance of prayer can also be found within the laws of nature.” For example, as mentioned at the beginning [of the sermon]
That milk is generated in the mother’s breasts when the child cries – this is the law of nature. The Promised Messiah (as) further states: “It is in accordance to laws of nature that God Almighty sends forth living signs in every age. “Thus, if one wishes to become a part of these living signs
“then there are certain requirements and conditions which need to be fulfilled.” “Some people claim that their prayer was not accepted, however there are certain conditions that must be met. The Promised Messiah (as) states: “In regards to the essential conditions for prayer,
“first and foremost it is necessary that one develops righteous actions and has a firm belief. “One who does not uphold correct beliefs and neither adopts righteous actions or improves them, “yet he prays then it is as if he puts God Almighty in trial [metaphorically].”
Thus, it is not only important to strengthen in our belief but also to fashion our actions according to the pleasure of God Almighty and His injunctions. It should not be the case that in normal circumstances we neglect the commandment of God Almighty of observing the five daily prayers and
Nor fulfil the due rights of others, but when we find ourselves in difficulty then all of a sudden we remember God Almighty and fulfilling the rights of others. Thus, it is important for one to improve one’s own actions. One cannot achieve this by only improving one’s level of belief
But one also has to adopt righteous actions. Righteous actions are that one fulfils the due rights of God Almighty and also of His creation. When this happens then God Almighty will answer our prayers. May God Almighty enable all of us to live our lives according to His commandments
And also enable us to fulfil the due rights of His worship and also the due rights of prayer. After the prayers, I shall lead two funeral prayers in absentia. The first funeral prayer is of Chaudhry Naimatullah Sahi Sahib. He devoted his life after taking retirement, in fact before that,
And served as Nazim Jaidad in Sadr Anjuman Ahmadiyya, Pakistan. He passed away on 15th January in Canada, [Arabic] To Allah we belong and to Him shall we return. Ahmadiyyat entered his family through Hazrat Hussain Bibi Sahiba, the mother of Hazrat Chaudhry Zafrullah Khan Sahib,
Who went to Qadian and performed the Bai’at due to a dream that she saw. The husband of Hussain Bibi Sahiba – the younger brother of Hazrat Nasrullah Khan – Ghulam Ahmad Sahib also went to Qadian and did Bai’at at the hands of the Promised Messiah (as).
Ghulam Ahmad Sahib was the grandfather of Chaudhry Naimatullah Sahib. Chaudhry Naimatullah Sahib had the opportunity to serve the Jama’at in various capacities. He served as the Amir of Hyderabad, Nazim for the auxiliary organisation for the Ansar in Hyderabad, Qaid Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya Hyderabad and also Nazim Jaidad in Sadr Anjuman Ahmadiyya Rabwah, Pakistan.
He was regular in offering Tahujjad [pre-dawn voluntary prayer] from his childhood and continued to strive in this till his last breath. He regularly offered his daily prayers in congregation and despite the cold weather or rain, he would always make an effort to offer his prayers in the mosque in congregation.
He had an extraordinary belief in prayer. He had great love for Khilafat and gave a lot of importance to attending the Jalsa Salana. Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IV (rh) was once touring Hyderabad, this was before his Khilafat, and Chaudhry Sahib’s house came on the way where he stopped for a short while.
Chaudhry Sahib at the time was not at home but Huzoor told his wife that tell Chaudhry Sahib that he should now serve the faith. He was serving the Jama’at as an office-bearer, however after he received this message, he wrote a letter in which he dedicated himself as a Waqf [life devotee].
He would always try and reach the office before the other office staff. He was extremely patient and grateful. He cared deeply about other people’s pain and suffering. He had great control over his emotions and possessed a very cool temperament. He would never mention about any minor illness or pain.
During his employment he earned a substantial income but despite this, he never spent extravagantly on himself and nor did he express his wealth in any way. He worked with great honesty. For this reason, he was highly trusted by the textile mill owners.
Due to his level of honesty when his son started working in the textile sector in Faisalabad, many of the textile mill owners offered to work with him without seeking any guarantor because being the son of Chaudhry Sahib was sufficient enough as a guarantee. He was a very prominent figure in the textile industry.
He always advised his children to write to Khalifatul Masih. He is survived by three daughters and two sons. By the Grace of God Almighty he was a Moosi [member of the Al-Wasiyat scheme]. One of his close acquaintances writes: “The father of Chaudhry Naimatullah Sahib, Chaudhry Inayatullah Sahib,
“was the cousin of Chaudhry Zafrullah Khan Sahib. “Zafrullah Khan Sahib once heard that Naimatullah Sahib was displeased with his son over something. “So, Chaudhry Zafrullah Khan Sahib wrote to Chaudhry Naimatullah Sahibb’s father stating that ‘When I was in Pakistan, I learnt that you were displeased with the Naimatullah over a matter. ‘Nevertheless, you are aware of the fact that the time Aziz Naimatullah remained in England, ‘he would meet me regularly. ‘During the period of his illness when he was in Switzerland he would meet there as well.’ Chaudhry Zafrullah Khan Sahib writes: ‘I can say with the utmost conviction that ‘I have always found Aziz to be loyal, composed, disciplined and a well-mannered worker.
‘As his father you should be proud of his lofty morals and virtuous disposition. ‘For the entire duration he was abroad, he lived piously and I am thoroughly pleased with him. ‘I pray for him constantly and even now I pray for him in every prayer.’
He then says: ‘I can honestly say that out of the three Aziz’s [brothers]’ Aziz Naimatullah was studying in England at that time, he writes: ‘out of the three, Aziz Naimatullah was the most pious and virtuous of nature.’” Then, one of the employees in the Jaidad [Property Maintenance] Office
Who deals with legal matters relating to official properties writes: “His treatment towards us was never as a superior, rather we always saw him as a benevolent elder. “He was filled with humility and had a sagacious disposition. “He was very successful in his secular life and served in several high profile capacities.
“Despite this he was extremely humble and “his conduct with his superiors was one of utmost respect and courtesy. “Even if his superior was younger than him in age, he would treat him with respect and honour.” He has also written, an indeed this statement is absolutely correct,
That “From the time he was accepted as a Waqf-e-Zindagi [devotee of life], “he shunned all forms of vanity. “He abandoned all forms of egotism from his being. “Many times when I went to his office, he was occupied in the remembrance of God”. He then says,
“When it came to official Jamaat matters, he would put all his personal relations and friendship “to one side, despite the fact that he would show kindness to his relatives.” He further writes: “On one occasion, an Ahmadi in Rabwah occupied land that belonged to the Jamaat
“and built a persona that he was well acquainted with Chaudhry Sahib, “therefore no one should approach him about this matter. “When it came to the attention of Chaudhry Sahib, he dealt with that man sternly. “Prior to this incident, although there were other people who had encroached that land,
“he had never seen him deal in such a stern manner with anyone as he did with his relative.” He then says: “Once Chaudhry Sahib told me that he had never quarrelled with his wife. “His eyes would light up at the very mention of Khilafat.
“Some time ago, his son was engaged to be married to a particular person. “Through some means he [i.e. Chaudhry Sahib] became aware of the fact “that Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IV (rh) did not approve of the match. “He called his son and said: ‘I will not compel you to break off this marriage, however,
‘I will say that now that I am aware of the fact that Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IV (rh) does not ‘approve of this marriage, I will not partake in the wedding ceremony.’ “The son then ended the engagement himself.” May Allah the Almighty elevate the status of the deceased
And enable his children to carry on his virtuous deeds. The second funeral is of Zafrullah Khan Buttar Sahib from Karto, Sheikhupura. He passed away on 9th January [2018] [Arabic] To Allah we belong and to Him shall we return. He was an Ahmadi from birth.
His father Chaudhry Allah Ditta Sahib accepted Ahmadiyyat in 1928. He had the opportunity to serve as the Sadr [Local President] of the Karto village in Sheikupura. He was regular in observing the Tahajjud [pre-dawn voluntary prayer] prayers as well as his five obligatory prayers.
He regularly listened to my sermons and was also punctual in paying chanda. He had a meek nature, however in matters pertaining to the upbringing of children, he was very meticulous and would look over the minutest of details. He is survived by three daughters and three sons.
One of his sons Sajid Mahmood Buttar Sahib is a missionary, presently serving as a teacher in Jamia Ahmadiyya International Ghana. Due to his official responsibilities he was unable to travel to Pakistan in order to attend his father’s funeral. May Allah the Almighty grant him patience and steadfastness.
He writes: “From childhood our parents ensured that we had a good upbringing. “He [i.e. the deceased] would always take me with him to the mosque. “Whenever a guest would come to our home, he would happily inform them that
‘I have devoted my son [for services to the faith] and will be sending him to Jamia.” He further says: “Owing to this, I had no desire to study any other subject “and would always have at the back of my mind that I will go to Jamia.”
May Allah enable his virtuous deeds to continue through his children. May Allah enable his son to fulfil his Waqf [life devotion] with the true spirit of the scheme and with the same passion and enthusiasm that his father devoted him.
May Allah elevate the status of the deceased and shower His forgiveness and mercy on him. All praise is due to Allah. We laud Him, we beseech help from Him and ask His protection; we confide in Him, we trust Him alone and we seek protection against the evils and mischief of our souls
And from the bad results of our deeds. Whomsoever He guides on the right path, none can misguide him; and whosoever He declares misled, none can guide him onto the right path. And we bear witness that none deserves to be worshipped except Allah. We bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.
O servants of Allah! May Allah be merciful to you. Verily, Allah commands you to act with justice, to confer benefits upon each other and to do good to others as one does to one ‘s kindred and forbids evil which pertain to your own selves
And evils which affect others and prohibits revolts against a lawful authority. He warns you against being unmindful. You remember Allah; He too will remember you; call Him and He will make a response to your call. And verily divine remembrance is the highest virtue.
