Friday Sermon – Khalifatul Masih V – Mirza Masroor Ahmad – Year 2015
I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except God and I bear witness that Muhammad (saw) is His Servant and Messenger After this I seek refuge with Allah, from Satan, the accursed. In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful. All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds.
The Gracious, the Merciful. Master of the Day of Judgment. Thee alone do we worship and Thee alone do we implore for help. Guide us in the right path; the path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings, those who have not incurred Thy displeasure, and those who have not gone astray.
Today there was a solar eclipse here [UK] and also in various other countries. The Holy Prophet (saw) instructed to particularly pray, engage in Istaghfar [seeking repentance], give alms and offer Salat during the eclipse. Therefore, wherever the eclipse occurred the Jama’ats [Communities] were instructed,
To offer the Salatul Kusoof [prayer offered at the time of the solar eclipse]. We also offered the Salatul Kusoof in accordance to the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (saw). From the Hadith we learn that,
The solar and lunar eclipse are considered among the special signs of God Almighty. According to the Holy Prophet (saw), the sign of the solar and lunar eclipse, were among the great signs for the advent of the Promised Messiah (as) which by the grace of Allah,
Were fulfilled both in the East and West in support of the Promised Messiah (as). Therefore, the eclipse has great significance for the community of the Promised Messiah (as). Today’s eclipse cannot be said that it is a sign for the advent of the Promised Messiah (as) but
Draws our attention to the eclipse occurring as a sign of the advent of the Promised Messiah (as). It also draws our attention because today’s eclipse occurred on a Friday, and Friday has a special relationship with the advent of the Promised Messiah (as).
It also draws our attention because it has taken place in the month of March and three days later, the 23rd of March it is the Day of the Promised Messiah, when he made the claim. This month, day and eclipse, all remind us through various aspects the history of our Community.
Therefore while I was selecting various references for the sermon after the Salatul Kusoof , I decided to also speak about the eclipse in the Friday Sermon and present some of the extracts of the Promised Messiah’s (as) writing in relation to his prophecy of the solar and lunar eclipse,
A prophecy which was made by the Holy Prophet (saw) and also relate some of the incidents of the companions who entered the Community after witnessing this sign. thus further refined their faith. As I have said, the Holy Prophet (saw) gave these eclipse great significance,
There are many Hadith of instances, when the eclipse occurred in the Prophet (saw)’s life time, I shall present one such Hadith, Hazrat Asma (ra) relates that “I came to Hazrat Ayesha (ra) during the solar eclipse and
“and saw her praying. I asked her what is wrong with people that they are praying at this hour? “She gestured with her hand towards the sky and said ‘SubhanAllah’. I asked her is there a sign and she nodded in the affirmative.”
Asma narrates that “I also stood and prayed to the extent that I almost collapsed i.e. “the duration of the prayer that the Holy Prophet (saw) lead was so lengthy, she says “that I almost fainted and so I poured water over my head.
“When the Holy Prophet (saw) finished the prayer, he then praised and glorified God Almighty and “then the Holy Prophet (saw) stated that ‘Just now I have seen something, ‘whilst standing in the same place which I have never seen before, ‘I even saw Paradise and Hell and it has been revealed to me that,
You will be put to trial in your graves like the trial of the Dajjal or similar to that.’ “The Holy Prophet (saw) then stated that ‘One of you will be called and ‘he will be asked that what do you know about this man i.e. about Hazrat Muhammad (saw)?
He will reply’ ” – Hazrat Asma (ra) says that it was either the word Mo’min [true believer] used or one who has complete faith – ” ‘he will reply, He is Muhammad (saw), the Prophet of God
“and he came to us with signs and guidance and we accepted him, believed in him and followed him.’ “The person will be told, ‘sleep peacefully as We know you were surely a firm believer.’ “On the other hand a hypocrite or one who had doubts will reply that ‘I do not know about,
The Holy Prophet (saw) but I heard people saying something so I said the same.’ ” The Holy Prophet (saw) has also said that they are signs amongst the signs of Allah Almighty. They have no relation to one’s life or death but one should pray and seek repentance.
I will present excerpts of the Promised Messiah (as) regarding the Lunar and Solar eclipses. He says, ” I am utterly astonished that despite of all the signs, “the attention of Maulvi’s is not focused on accepting the truth. ” They do not consider the fact that in every field Allah the Almighty causes
“them to suffer defeat and many amongst them wish for any proof of Divine support in their regard. ” Instead of support, their failure was proven every single day, “that is their misfortune and ruin is proven. ” For example in those days, astronomers disseminated the news that in Ramadhan;
“the sun and the moon were eclipsed and it was in the hearts of people that this is “a sign of the emergence of the Promised Imam. ” Then at that time there was fear in the hearts of Maulvis that the Promised Messiah (as)
” is the only person who claims to be the Mahdi and the Messiah, “he is the only person standing in this field and they hope people would not be drawn to him. ” Then in order to make him obscure some people started to say;
” that the solar and lunar eclipse will not occur this Ramadhan. ” Instead it will happen at the time when the Imam Mahdi will emerge. ” When the solar and lunar eclipse occurred in Ramadhan then; ” they made the excuse that this solar and lunar eclipse is not in accordance with the Hadith.
” Because it is narrated in Hadith that the moon will be eclipsed on the first night of the month; “and the sun will be eclipsed mid-month. ” Whereas, in this solar and lunar eclipse moon was eclipsed on the 13th night ” and the sun was eclipsed on the 28th.
” When it was explained to them that the Hadith does not refer to the first of the month ” and the moon of the first night is Hilaal [Crescent moon] and ” in the Hadith the word Qamar is used instead of Hilaal.
” So the meaning of the Hadith is that moon will be eclipsed on the first night, ” meaning the first night amongst the nights of eclipse that is the 13th night of the month. ” The sun will be eclipsed on a day in the middle of the month,
” that is on the 28th which is a day in the middle of the days of eclipse. ” Then the ignorant Maulvi were ashamed after listening to the correct meaning ” and then after a lot of hard work they formulated a second excuse
” that amongst the narrators of this Hadith, one was not a good person. ” When it was said to them that the prophecy of the Hadith has been fulfilled; ” then what is the basis of the objection? ” The objection which is based on doubt is nothing against this evident incident;
” that proves the strength and authenticity of the Hadith. ” This means that the fulfilment of the prophecy bears witness; ” that the words of the Hadith are that of a truthful person. ” Now to say that these words are not of a truthful person instead he is a liar;
” is clearly disobeying and rejecting the commandment of believing in the obvious. ” It has always been a principle of the narrators of Hadith that doubt cannot replace conviction. ” The fulfilment of the prophecy according to its essence in the time of a person ” who claims to be the Mahdi
” is a convincing testimony that the person who uttered these words is a truthful person. ” But to say that we have an objection on his conduct, meaning, ” the conduct of the claimant or there is a doubtful point; ” can a liar ever speak the truth?
” Not only this, this prophecy is proven in another way as well ” and some Hanafi saints have also written about this. ” Denying this is not only unjust rather it is pure obstinacy. “After this crushing reply they had no option but to say that this Hadith is authentic
” and according this it is understood that the Promised Imam will appear in the near future. ” However, this person is not the Promised Imam (that is the Promised Messiah (as)). ” Instead that person will be someone else who will appear in the near future after this.
” However this reply by them is worthless and untruthful because if someone else was the Imam; ” then as it is mentioned in the Hadith that he would appear at the beginning of the century; ” but fifteen years have passed till then and their Imam has not appeared.
” Now their last reply is that these people (Ahmadis) are Kaafir (disbelievers), ” do not pay attention to their books. ” Do not socialise with them. Do not listen to them because their words can affect hearts. ” However, this is an alarming condition that the heavens have turned against them
” and the current state of the earth is also against them. ” This is such a disgrace for them that on one side heaven is bearing witness against them and ” on the other side the Earth is also bearing witness against them ” due to the prevalence of the cross.
” And at another place the Promised Messiah (as) says, the sign of solar and lunar eclipse ” was fulfilled for us and hundreds of people witnessed it and entered our Jama’at and ” the solar and lunar eclipse was a source of happiness for us and ” a source of disgrace for the opponents.
” Can they swear and say that their hearts desired for the solar and lunar eclipse at a time; ” when we are claiming to be the Promised Mahdi and there is no sign of this in the world. ” And when it appeared against their will then their hearts were most surely hurt;
And they saw their disgrace in it.” After this now I will narrate incidents of some companions. Hazrat Ghulam Muhammad Sahib (ra) says “there was a Maulavi named Badruddin Sahib ” in this humble one’s village. I was 15 years of age.
” I was standing with Maulavi Badruddin Sahib in front of his house that the sun was eclipsed ” during daytime and Maulavi Sahib said ‘Subhan Allahthe signs of Mahdi Sahib have emerged ” and the time of his appearance has come.’ ” After a short while Maulavi Sahib accepted Ahmadiyyat.
” Maulavi Sahib was very pure, pious-natured and sincere. After trying for a year, he converted his parents and wife to Ahmadiyyat.” Then Hafiz Hayat Sahib of Laliyaan writes in his article “Ahmadiyyat in Laliyaan” that after the fulfilment of the signs, hearts were stimulated.
He says that “Similarly in 1894 because of the fulfilment of the sign of solar and lunar eclipse, ” the feeling to search was procured in the hearts of the people for the Imam Mahdi has appeared. ” And that the Day of Judgment is nigh. One finds in revelation,
” that people were anxious about the future, as the Day of Judgment has arrived. ” In those day, these signs were often discussed. ” Hafiz Muhammad Lakhokay, in his book, Ahwaalul Aakhira, ” mentioned the signs relating to the advent of the Imam Mahdi in one of his writings in Punjabi.
” Similarly, a Muslim ascetic and Sufi poet form Lalian, Mia Muhammad Saddiq Lali also mentioned these signs in his literary works. ” Regarding these signs in which it mentioned that the moon shall be eclipsed on the 13th and
The sun shall be eclipsed on the 27th – it says 27th, but in fact it is supposed to be the 28th, this is the translation of those Punjabi verses. However, regarding these signs he states that “They would be discussed in every household,
“there was great interest to learn more about the Imam of the age amongst the general population. “In such circumstances, Maulana Taj Mahmood Sahib and various other elders by mutual consultation, ” formed a delegation which would visit Qadian and meet the Promised Messiah (as)
” and assess whether all the signs that have been recorded in the various narrations concerning ” the advent of the Promised Mahdi have been fulfilled, ” and if they have been fulfilled then they would do his Bai’at. ” The names of the three individuals selected for this delegation were:
” Sheikh Amir Ul Din Sahib, Mia Sahib Din Sahib and Mia Muhammad Yaar Sahib. ” The delegation set off by foot. According to the currency of the time they both only had one and a half rupees between them.” According to some narrations the delegation consisted of only two people,
Mia Sahib Din and Sheikh Amir Ul Din. Nevertheless, he states that “Both of them only had one and a half Rupees, ” it was the month of March and the wheat crops were nearing to their full development. “They would travel almost 10 – 12 miles daily and whenever they would feel hungry,
” they would ask farmers for some ears of wheat which had grown and would heat up and eat them. ” If they found a settlement or temporary dwelling nearby, they would spend the night there. ” However, after traveling a great distance which was approximately 150 – 175 miles,
When these two individuals” – and according to some narrations three individuals, “arrived close to Batala they were met my some of Maulvi Muhammad Hussani Sahib Batalwi’s students. ” They asked them for directions to Qadian, they enquired why they wanted to go to there.
” After learning about their reason for traveling to Qadian, the students warned them, ” to not go to Qadian and said that ‘The person who has claimed to be the Mahdi is, ‘(God forbid), a liar because he has not just made one claim but seven different claims,
‘therefore which one of his many claims would you accept? “And said it would be better for them to return back. “Upon hearing this, Sheikh Amir Ul Din who was not very educated but gave a splendid response, ” he said that ‘even if he has made seven different claims, he is still truthful,
In fact he is yet to make many more claims’ ” he presented the argument according to [his intellect] that “There are seven of you and I am alone. “If you were all to wrestle with me and I defeated all of you
Would I be considered as one individual or seven? In other words I have overpowered all seven” and then stated that “The Imam of the age has to challenge all the different world religions, therefore he would have to make many more claims.”
None of them were able to respond to this and said to him that ” Mia! You continue your journey” but even then they did not give the directions. They state that they travelled a little further and there was a small tea stall,
Which belonged to a Sikh who prepared tea for them and offered some biscuits. Sheikh Sahib related the incident and the behaviour of Batalwi sahib’s students to the Sikh and he expressed his disappointment. The Sikh said that he would give them directions to Qadian and regarding the Promised Messiah (as)
Said that according to him he seems to speak the truth about his claim and also said that he knew Mirza Sahib (as). He then travelled for a long distance with them until they reached a road,
That took them straight to Qadian, in those days the road to Qadian was not a proper solid surface. When they both reached Qadian, the Promised Messiah (as) was in the Mubarak Mosque with a gathering of people including some non-Ahmadi scholars and Muslims personages
With whom the Promised Messiah (as) was conversing and answering their questions and at the same time was also occupied in writing. This was also a sign whereby the Promised Messiah (as) was writing as if the words were
Being revealed straight to his heart and at the same time he was conversing with the people sat in the gathering which seemed to have no hindrance on the fluency of his writing. They were introduced to the Promised Messiah (as); Sheikh Sahib said “Huzoor (as) we came from Laliyan.”
The Promised Messiah (as) asked that “Where is Laliyan? ” Although many people are aware but for those who do not know, Laliyan is situated approximately 8 miles from Rabwah and is a large village, in fact a town now, however, they had travelled from there.
Hazrat Hakim Maulana Noorul Din Sahib was also sat in that gathering who belonged to Behra and therefore knew of Laliyan and stated that Huzoor (as), Laliyan is situated near Kurana and Lak Bar to which Huzoor (as) replied that “Yes of course that Lak and Lali.”
Because the Promised Messiah (as) had heard of the couplet about Lali, therefore perhaps that is why he knew of it. Hazrat Hakim Maulana Noorul Din Sahib said that Huzoor (as) “They are our neighbours” and because Sheikh Sabib and Amir Ul Din were not very educated
He also said in Punjabi that “Yes Huzoor (as), we are neighbours ” and then told Huzoor (as) about the condition and the various incidents of their journey. When Huzoor (as) heard about their incident with Batalwi Sahib’s students,
Huzoor (as) stated that “Even though he is illiterate, look how well responded; “they were left without an answer, who taught him? Indeed, it was God Who taught him” and Huzoor (as) repeated these words three times. Huzoor (as) then instructed them to spend a few days with them
And so they spent three days in the company of Huzoor (as) . They would accompany Huzoor (as) on his walks and analysed the signs that the Scholars from Laliyan had told them about and witnessed them being fulfilled with their own eyes.
In the end, before their departure they presented themselves in the mosque and conveyed the Salaam which the Holy Prophet (saw) had instructed to convey to the Mahdi. They also requested to do the Bai’at but Huzoor (as) replied that they should spend a few more days with them.
Upon hearing this Sheikh Sahib became emotional and placed his foot forward and showed it to Huzoor (as) and then said that “After such a long journey, our feet have swollen ” and we have endured such hardship, we have accepted you as the truthful Mahdi and
We do not know how much longer we have to live, therefore accept our Bai’at.” And so, they took the Bai’at at the hand of the Promised Messiah (as) inside the Mubarak Mosque. Asadullah Qureshi Sahib writes about Hazrat Qazi Akbar Sahib (ra)
That Hazrat Qazi Sahib (ra) before becoming an Ahmadi was an Ahle Hadith. He was related to Hazrat Maulvi Burhan ul Din Sahib Jehlmi and was the Imam of his local area. He was occupied in teaching the locals religious knowledge when the sign of the solar and lunar eclipse took place in the sky.
He was already aware that the time of the Mahdi’s advent was very near and so after the appearance of the great sign of the solar and lunar eclipse, discussions began among his students and friends. His grandson, Bashir Ahmed Sahib states that Mia Manga Sahib told him that
Qazi Sahib used to teach them when the solar and lunar eclipse occurred in the month of Ramadhan. Qazi Sahib told them that “The sign for the advent of the Imam Mahdi (as) had appeared therefore we should search for him.”
In those days, the people of Karkot would travel to Jhelum to purchase their grocery. Qazi Sahib gave those going to Jhelum the task of meeting Hazrat Maulvi Burhan ul Din Sahib (ra) and ask him that the solar and lunar eclipse sign has appeared;
So could he guide them with regards to the Imam Mahdi. Therefore they met Maulvi Sahib and he gave them some books and also a letter for Qazi Sahib. Before receiving the books, Qazi Sahib had seen in a dream that someone gave him three books to read.
The first book that he opened was full of dirt and had a foul smell and he threw away the book. He then saw that the other two books were emitting light. His dream was fulfilled in that one of the books sent by Hazrat Maulvi Burhan ul Din Sahib (ra)
Was a refutation of the Promised Messiah’s claims. He started to read this book first; but he abandoned it after coming across hurtful remarks made about the Promised Messiah (as) and he found the other two books and the letter just as he had seen in his dream.
This further inspired him to research and so sent a delegation comprising of three people to Qadian. After arriving in Qadian, all three did Bai’at at the blessed hand of the Promised Messiah (as). It is also worth mentioning that like always, in this narration too, Maulvi Muhammad Hussain Batalwi stopped this delegation and
Said that “You pointlessly endure such hardships by travelling several days on foot to go Qadian. “You live far away therefore you have no knowledge that everything about Mirza Sahib is based on falsehood and so you should turn back. ” Maulvi Sahib not only said this but lead them out of the town.
However, after he had gone, all three instead of going back went to Qadian and by the grace of Allah Almighty did the Bai’at. After this, Qazi Sahib initially did the Bai’at in writing and then came to Qadian and had the honour of doing the Bai’at in person.
Then, Qazi Maula Bakhsh Sahib the grandfather of Hazrat Maulana Abul Atta Sahib Jalandhri, was a renowned Ahle Hadith speaker from Tehseel Nawan, Jalandhar district. When the solar and lunar eclipse sign took place, he spoke in great detail about
The lunar and solar eclipse occurring on the 13th and 28th of the blessed month of Ramadhan. He stated that “This was the sign for the advent of the Imam Mahdi and now we should wait to see when and where the Promised Mahdi will appear. ” This sermon had a far-reaching impact on people.
Although Qazi Maula Bakhsh Sahib, who was the grandfather of Maulana Abul Atta Jalandhri did not accept Ahmadiyyat but his eldest son, the father of Maulana Abul Atta Sahib Hazrat Mian Imam Din Sahib, after hearing about the claimant; conducting some study and careful deliberation
Had the good fortune of accepting and doing the Bai’at of the Promised Messiah (as). Hazrat Ghulam Mujtaba Sahib (ra) says that “I read Durre Sameen in 1901 whilst working in Hong Ko “The world was in need of a reformer to appear because there were such differences
“that existed among the scholars of that time that every sane person had “cut loose from those differences and was in search for a reformer. “After reading the verses of Durre Sameen , I c to the conclusion that if this person was truthful
” it was something most auspicious; else he was an excellent liar as it was such a remarkable book. ” Around the same time I also came across the book, Izala Auham; “but could not find out who had sent these books to Hong Kong.
” I read the whole of Izala Auham and began discussing with the Imam in Hong Kong. ” with the Imam of the mosque in Hong Kong with reference to the book. ” The Imam of the mosque in Hong Kong had a Qasidah of Naimatullah Walliullah in Farsi and
” we would seek great help by reading it that the time for the Mahdi’s advent is very close, ” in fact, this is the time. ” My late father was a scribe; when the solar and lunar eclipses took place in Ramadhan, my father said the Mahdi (as) has been born.”
Maulana Ibrahim Sahib Bakapuri (ra) states that a father and son went to Maulvi Abdul Jabbar; and asked him if the Hadith of the solar and lunar eclipse for the Imam Mahdi’s advent was true. The Maulvi Sahib replied that the Hadith was true but warned them
Not to fall in the entrapment of Mirza Sahib because he was citing the Hadith for his claim. He said the Hadith was about the birth of the Mahdi and was not for the proof for his claim. The father said that “Maulvi Sahib you have given me the answer for the question I asked.
” As far as the question is concerned as to who the Hadith applies to, ” I have spent a lifetime in courts of law but the government never asked me to bring a witness ” until I had not made a claim. The same is the case with Mirza Sahib,
His claim was from before; now the solar and lunar eclipse have appeared as a sign for his claim. ” The Maulvi Sahib had no answer and both the father and son returned back to their village and God Almighty enabled them to accept Ahmadiyyat. It is God Almighty who teaches these arguments.
Hazrat Nazir Hussain Shah Sahib states that “When the solar and lunar eclipse took place; ” that I was in my house, ” My father said that this is a sign for the truthfulness of Mirza Sahib. This statement has such an effect on me that I had the opportunity to accept Ahmadiyyat.”
Hazrat Sayed Zainul Abideen Waliullah Shah Sahib states that “It was widely held in those days that the Muslims were ruined, “and it was the end of the thirteenth century Hijrah and it was said; “that Imam Mahdi was going to appear and Prophet Jesus (as) was also going to appear after him.
” My dear mother used to speak of the advent of Imam Mahdi and Prophet Jesus (as) with great joy; ” and that the time was very close; and that the solar and lunar eclipse was specific to the time to the time of the advent of Imam Mahdi which has occurred. ”
Nonetheless, God Almighty enabled the entire family to accept Ahmadiyyat. Hazrat Mirza Ayub Baig Sahib said the occurrence of the prophecy of lunar and solar eclipse during the month of Ramadhan is mentioned in Dar Qutni, Hadith as a sign of the Mahdi.
In March 1894 first the moon was eclipsed. When the days of solar eclipse were nigh, both brothers departed Lahore as they intended to witness this sign with the Promised Messiah (as) and to perform Salat-ul-Khusuf (prayer offered during eclipse). They departed from Lahore on Saturday evening and arrived in Batala at 11pm.
The eclipse was occurring the next day early in the morning. See the passion of these youngsters. Wind was blowing hard, clouds were moving and lightening was flashing. Wind was blowing on their face and sand was falling in their eyes.
They were traveling from Batala to Qadian on foot; they could not raise their feet properly; and they could only see their path when lightning struck. Along with Hazrat Mirza Ayub Baig Sahib was his countryman Maulvi ‘Abdul ‘Ali Sahib. They were altogether three men.
It was decided that regardless of what happens they have to reach Qadian by night. They had accepted Ahmadiyyat and wanted to offer Salaat-ul-Khusuf with the Promised Messiah (as). So the three stopped in their journey and prayed with immense humility that,
“Oh Allah! Who is the Omnipotent of the heavens and the earth. We are your humble servants. ” We are going to visit your Messiah and we are traveling on foot in the cold. Have mercy on us and make our journey easy for us and make this contrary wind go away.”
He says that as soon as the last word of this prayer was uttered, the wind changed direction; instead of blowing towards them, it started to blow from behind and it helped them and made their journey easy. Their footsteps became very light and it felt as if they were flying in the air.
In a short while they arrived at a stream where it started drizzling. There was a barn near the water of this stream and they entered in it. In those days there were often incidents of robberies in district of Gurdaspur.
They lit a lamp and saw a vacant barn and there were two dung cakesand a big brick placed there. Everyone used it as a pillow and slept on the floor. After a while when they woke up the sky was clear and luminous with stars. There was no sign of clouds and windstorm.
They departed from there and did Sehri at the Promised Messiah’s (as) table. In the morning they offered Salat-ul-Khusuf with the Promised Messiah (as) . It was the month of Ramadhan This prayer was lead by Maulvi Muhammad Ahsan Sahib Amruhi on the rooftop of Masjid Mubarak.
The prayer and sermon lasted about 3 hours. Many friends had marked their mirrors with black ink. Through such pieces of glass they were engaged in witnessing the eclipse. The eclipse had just began, when some said to the Promised Messiah (as) that the sun has eclipsed.
When the Promised Messiah (as) witnessed this through the mirror, it seemed like the darkness was very subtle. The eclipsed had just begun. The Promised Messiah (as) said that ” I have witnessed this eclipse “but it will stay concealed from the people as it is very mild.
And in this way the sign of this magnificent prophecy will become doubtful. ” The Promised Messiah (as) mentioned this several times. However, in a little while the darkness on the sun, the eclipse, started increasing until greater part of the sun became dark.
The Promised Messiah (as) said, “I saw an onion in a dream today. Its interpretation is sorrow. “Therefore in the beginning due to mild darkness I was somewhat saddened but, God the Almighty granted me happiness.” Maulvi Ghulam Rasool Sahib says that “In 1894 when the solar and lunar eclipse occurred, at that time
” I was studying the Tirmidhi Shareef (Book of Hadith) from Maulvi Abdul Manan Sahib in Lahore. ” My heart was affected by the worry and agitation of the Scholars. ” Although the scholars were providing people with nonsensical comforts but actually ” they were fearful about the fact that because of this true sign,
” people will very rapidly submit to the Promised Messiah (as). ” In those days, Hafiz Mohammad Sahib was in Lahore to get surgery done for a bladder stone. ” I also visited him. When people enquired from him that ‘You have mentioned
‘this sign clearly in your book Ahwalul Aakhirat and the claimant Hazrat Mirza Sahib ‘is also presenting this sign to support his claim. What is your code of conduct regarding this matter.’ He said ‘I am sick and extremely weak. ‘ I will comment on this after recovering.
‘ However I prohibit my son Abdul Rahman Mohiyul-Din from opposing Mirza Sahib because secrets of God the Almighty are strange.’ ” Anyways he could not survive and passed away soon. The person writing this says that “My heart was satisfied regarding
” the truthfulness of the Promised Messiah (as). I went to Amritsar to complete my study of Hadith. ” After staying there for 2-3 years and graduating from it I arrived in Dar-ul-Amaan and was honoured by doing Bai’at of the Promised Messiah (as). ”
Hazrat Bhai Abdul Rahman Sahib from Qadian says that “In 1894 during the month of Ramadhan “the well-known prophecy of both eclipses about the Mahdi of the latter days was fulfilled. ” That scene is still in front of my eyes and those words still echo in my ears
” which our Headmaster Maulvi Jamal-ul-Din Sahib said in the classroom of the Madrassah ” in front of the whole class upon the fulfilment of this sign, ” that we should now search for the Mahdi of the latter times. ” His birth has most surely taken place in some cave already because
A great sign of his appearance was fulfilled today. ” Hazrat Bhai Abdul Rahman Sahib says that “I was present in this class, that room, “that location and the circle of boys, I can envision it all to this day. ” That chair in which Maulana Sahib was sitting in while saying those words,
” that table on which he struck his hand and shared this news that we bear witness ” for the sake of Allah that proof of argument was fulfilled for abovementioned Maulvi Sahib. ” Despite of announcing the fulfilment of this sign he passed away deprived of accepting the Mahdi of the latter times.”
Hazrat Bhai Abdul Rahman says that ” My ears were, until that time, ” unacquainted of the name Mahdi of the latter times. ” The words that the birth of the Mahdi of the latter times took place in a cave and
” that it is a great sign of his appearance, were astonishing for me. ” I was in middle school then and the desire to search for the truth procured from within me. ” Due to the sense of shame and respect I was not able to ask anything from my teacher.
” At last, I sought a solution to this riddle from my class fellows who, ” according to their prevalent doctrine and thought, narrated the entire incident. ” The impressions that procured in my heart after listening to these stories which increased my spirituality are as follows: ”
Look at how enriched is the heart of this 8th grade student. He said, “The first thing is the glad tidings which was shared 1300 years ago about an event; “which becomes famous amongst friends and foes and it is fulfilled precisely at the foretold time.
” The second thing that occurred to me was that the incident did not occur due to human effort. ” Instead, it occurred in the heavens where a human has no reach and ” there is neither any human involvement in it.
” Third thing was that the person of Mahdi of the latter times was to efface disbelief and ” propagate Islam and to establish an Islamic army ” and kill disbelievers with the sword and the Muslim thought of victory.
” The fourth thing was prayer and its essence. God hearing and accepting the prayers of his servants; ” as the Saints of the Holy Prophet (saw)’s nation have been praying for Mahdi of the latter times. ” At last those prayers were accepted.
” Fifth was that all these are an apparent and clear proof of the truthfulness of Islam and Islam is the religion which shows the way to obtain love and nearness to God. ” Hazrat Bhai Abdul Rahman Sahib says that “These five things had a profound effect on my heart and
“this incident increased and refreshed my faith and I also became restless “to accept the Mahdi of the latter times and got in the habit of praying for this purpose. ” I stayed up at night and was anxious during the day.
” The thought of searching the Mahdi of the latter days sometimes overcame me ” that despite of my young age I used leave for ruined and dreadful places like a mad man. ” Sometimes I used to say out loud and cried in front of Allah the Almighty
” and pleaded to meet with this Holy person. At last Allah the Almighty accepted my prayers.” Then a companion of the Promised Messiah (as) whose name is Hazrat Sheikh Naseer-Ud-Din Sahib who was born in 1858 in Iskandar Pur District Jilandhar,
Had the honour of doing Bai’at of the Promised Messiah (as), this was based on a dream. Hazrat Sheikh Naseer-Ud-Din Sahib was an Ahle-e-Hadith (People of the Hadith) but did not have tranquillity of the heart. When he used to hear from scholars in the mosques about the events and prophecies
Of the latter days mentioned in famous books, his heart gave testimony that it is time for the person whose emergence has been foretold to come, then why has Imam Mahdi not yet appeared. One day he was praying in a mosque and a Maulvi was mentioning the solar and lunar eclipse
In a very distressful manner and he was hitting his own thighs. He was saying that “Now people will accept the Promised Messiah (as) because according to the prophecy the eclipse has occurred.” When Maulvi Sheikh Naseer-Ud-Din Sahib heard this, he become more worrisome.
If the prophecy has been fulfilled then it is a very happy news. So Maulvi Sheikh Naseer-Ud-Din Sahib prayed with earnestly that “Oh my Lord, provide guidance for me.” Allah the Almighty guided him. He saw in a dream that a great evil attacks him, however,
He fires at the evil from his rifle and it disappears like smoke. Then he for congregational prayers to a mosque at an elevated location. He narrated this dream to a Maulvi Sahib who interpreted it for him. Maulvi Sahib said that Hazrat Sheikh Naseer-Ud-Din Sahib will conquer his Satan
And will join a righteous Community. During all of this, he heard about the Promised Messiah’s (as) claim and he reached Qadian and after witnessing everything similar to his dream, he did Bai’at on the hand of the Promised Messiah (as) without any objection. In this manner the prophecy of solar and lunar eclipse and
The things that the Maulvi Sahib said became a source of guidance for him. May Allah the Almighty grant wisdom to the world and may He grant the present day Muslims the ability to accept the Imam of the Age instead of opposing him. After Salat, I will lead a funeral prayer in absentia
It is for Respected Ahmad Yahya Bajwa Sahib, son of Naeem Ahmad Bajwa Sahib of Germany. He was a student of Jamia Ahmadiyya [Germany]. On 11 March 2015 he passed away at the age of 27 years due to an accident. Surly to Allah we belong and to him is our return.
He entered Jamia then left due to some sickness. Then after two years he expressed a desire to enter Jamia again. For this reason despite the elder age he was admitted. He was in the fourth year now and he was very talented and humble.
He was student with the true spirit of waqf; he was a very beautiful person by the Grace of Allah. He had a wonderful way of explaining things to his friends. Most of his class fellows, both new and old, wrote letters to me and everyone has praised him
And there is one thing in common that he was very humble and he never fought with anyone. If someone fought, he used to advise them and strived for reformation. With his efforts a staff member, who was not a teacher of Jamia
Instead he was a regular staff member, he was in the habit of smoking. He spoke to him in such a manner that he quit smoking. He used to advise very affectionately. He had a loving and friendly relationship with everyone. May Allah the Almighty elevate his status and treat him with mercy and pardon.
As I said just now I will InshAllah lead his funeral prayers. All praise is due to Allah. We laud Him, we beseech help from Him and ask His protection; we confide in Him, we trust Him alone and we seek protection against the evils and mischief of our souls
And from the bad results of our deeds. Whomsoever He guides on the right path, none can misguide him; and whosoever He declares misled, none can guide him onto the right path. And we bear witness that none deserves to be worshipped except Allah. We bear witness that Muhammad (saw) is His servant and Messenger.
O servants of Allah! May Allah be merciful to you. Verily, Allah commands you to act with justice, to confer benefits upon each other and to do good to others as one does to one’s kindred and forbids evil which pertain to your own selves
And evils which affect others and prohibits revolts against a lawful authority. He warns you against being unmindful. You remember Allah; He too will remember you; call Him and He will make a response to your call. And verily divine remembrance is the highest virtue.
